Drink Caffeine Cautiously
How caffeine affects your weight loss can vary. Some people can continue to drink a couple of cups of coffee or a caffeinated beverage every day and have great success on a low-dieting weight-loss program. Others may find that it slows down progress.
Caffeine all by itself, even without cream and sugar, can stimulate the production of insulin because it can indirectly raise blood glucose levels by stimulating the release of glycogen stores. And, as stated previously, this can increase fat storage and thwart fat burning. Read the rest of this entry »

Nothing can be done about your age, so don’t worry about it. You simply are the age you are, and yes, your metabolism slows down accordingly. But all is not lost. You can rev up your metabolism in spite of your age, no matter what age you are. Here’s what to do beyond eating the low-dieting way.

Although some people can keep their metabolism high throughout their lives, most can’t. Certain biological factors are, well, facts of life. After a person’s biological prime, say at about age 30 or 35, the body’s hormonal system begins to slow down and continues slowing down with every passing decade. As hormone production slows, so, too, does the basal metabolic rate. Read the rest of this entry »

The dieting load is the key to knowing how much of a carb to eat. As you have already learned, the dieting index gives you information about the quality of a carbohydrate. The numerical value tells you how eating that carbohydrate will affect your blood sugar levels. The dieting index alone, however, doesn’t give you a guide for how much of any carbohydrate you can or should eat.
When the dieting index first became popular, many people assumed that as long as a food was low dieting, it didn’t matter how much of it we ate. Wrong. Indiscriminately filling up on too many carbohydrates, even low-dieting carbs, can cause weight gain. Read the rest of this entry »

The structure of cellulite tissue differs considerably in structure and chemical composition from normal fat. It also tends to develop in stages:
Normal Flesh — Skin on your thighs and buttocks is smooth when you are standing or lying down. When pinched it folds and furrows but does not pit or bulge. This is the normal skin of most lean and very healthy men and women. Read the rest of this entry »

Mood Management
Eating high-dieting food creates mood disorders. Your body reacts to these foods by increasing insulin levels, which then increases the level of stress hormones.
With elevated levels of adrenaline and cortisol, a person easily experiences anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. If stress hormones stay high over a long period of time, a person can end up medically diagnosed with a mood disorder. Read the rest of this entry »
